SMOOTHIES AND SHAKES

Banana Shake [1]

Ingredients: 1 ripe banana, the juice of 1 orange, 1 teaspoon honey, 300ml (½ pint) of whole milk, ground cinnamon (to taste), 8 ice cubes

Chop the banana. Process the banana, orange juice, honey and milk in a food processor until smooth. Pour over ice into 2 tall glasses and sprinkle with cinnamon as desired.

Chocolate Shake [1]

Ingredients: 2 measures chocolate syrup, 2 scoops chocolate icecream, 1 scoop vanilla icecream, 250ml (8 fl oz) milk

Put all of the ingredients into a food processor and process until the mixture reaches the desired thickness, depending on personal taste. Makes one tall serving.

Root Beer Float [2]

Root beer or Sarsparilla, 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream

Place ice cream in a tall glass. Pour the Sarsparilla or root beer over it and serve with a straw and long-handled spoon for a classic American drink.

Cola Float [2]

Ingredients: 1 scoop vanilla ice cream, chilled cola (whichever brand you prefer, about 330ml or 0.6 pints)

Place the ice cream in a tall glass and carefully top up with the cola. Serve with a straw and a long-handled spoon.

Chocolate Fizz Shake [2]

2 generous tbsp chocolate syrup, cold whole milk, refrigerated soda water

Spoon the chocolate syrup into a tall glass and add milk up to about two thirds of the glass. Stir until the chocolate has dissolved. Top up with soda water and stir gently.
