Action on Addiction is a charity which works with people with drug and/or alcohol addictions. They provide treatment throughout England, have a specialist family service, train professionals and carry out research. They run both residential treatment facilities, including a specialist women's treatment programme, and structured day treatment. Action on Addiction also run aftercare programmes, including a work training skills project.

CITAP - Council for Information on Tranquillisers, Antidepressants and Painkillers
CITAP (also known as CITA) are a national charitable organisation working with individuals who are struggling with addiction to or problems with prescribed tranquilliseers, antidepressants and painkillers (prescription mind-altering drugs). Narcotics Anonymous
Narcotics Anonymous is an organisation run in a similar way to Alcoholics Anonymous. They hold regular meetings to help and support people recovering from drug addiction. You do not need to be clean when you begin attending meetings, you just need to want to become clean. NA advocates the 12 steps method; members meet to encourage each other to permanently stop using any drugs.
