Why do young people drink?
Youth drinking is a growing problem. There are lots of reasons why young people drink:
- To fit in
- Forget problems
- Feel confident
- Feel grown up
Side effects due to alcohol
Alcohol is a fast acting drug which can bring from far pleasant experiences:
- Headaches
- Mood Swings
- Blackouts
- Sickness
- Blurred speech and vision
Serious consequences
Drinking can also lead to serious situations:
- Criminal behaviour
- Violence
- Pregnancy
- Addiction
- Accidents
- Truanting
Remember
- it is illegal to buy alcohol is under 18
- It is also illegal to give alcohol to under 5’s
Think of the risks and consider the consequences!
