About compulsive gamblers
Compulsive gamblers tend to think they are in control of the situation and believe they have developed a system for winning. They typically use gambling as a form of escape from bad situation at home, unhappiness, boredom, stress and personal issues.
Do you...
- Gamble more often, or with more money, than you intend?
- Neglect family, friends, work or yourself in order to gamble?
- Gamble to escape worries or troubles?
- Constantly think of gambling?
- Hope for a big win to resolve money problems?
- Have arguments with others over money or gambling?
- Have mood swings because of your gambling?
- Continue to gamble despite negative consequences?
Do you have a problem?
Compulsive Gamblers will answer Yes to at least 7 of the following questions:
- Do you ever gamble to escape worry or trouble?
- Is gambling making your home life unhappy?
- After losing, do you feel you must try again to win back your losses?
- After a win do you have a strong urge to win more?
- Do you often gamble until your last pound is gone?
- Do you ever borrow money off friends or family to pay for your gambling?
- Do you spend more time gambling than you planned?
- Does gambling cause you to worry and have difficulty in sleeping?
- Do arguments, disappointments, or frustration make you to want to gamble?
- Have ever stolen money to fund your gambling?
Think of the risks and consider the consequences!
